It’s About Time: The Apology

Listen AND Read Along HERE 👇🏾.

I’m sorry that I took you for granted.

Taking advantage of the years you’ve gifted me.

Entitled, like what I was given was owed to me.

Lives of all ages

Come to a close daily .

But I thought I had you !

Somehow I believed I was more special than the next man.

Letting procrastination set in

I was confused.

I thought you would always  be there.

Recklessly living without a care,

Seconds, minutes, hours, ticking away

Then one day, I looked in the mirror .

My hair gray

My eyes they tell the story of the days that have passed .

And I realized

That you,

Time

You don’t last.

I’ll no longer assume that just because I have this moment

That there will be more to come.

No longer living in the arrogance

That I will be given another chance.

Another chance to say I love you or I’m sorry

Another chance to pursue my passions

I won’t waste my days waiting for things to happen.

Assuming that you’ll stick around for me

Because your presence is a privilege

That one day will come to an end and fade into a memory.
