In January 2017, I decided to expand Purple Light Touch Foundation by acquiring three additional rooms, thereby increasing my rent to $2800. Little did I realize at the time that those extra rooms would become crucial, as it appeared that God had already set things in motion for my future endeavors.
The Truth Comes to Light
In May a young lady came to our workplace, and unbeknownst to me, Jon was involved in an affair with her. He did not hide it; in fact, he brazenly paraded her in front of me. I sensed that something was amiss, as his behavior took a sudden shift, from his skates with black laces to vibrant colors, indicative of a midlife crisis.
Suspicion intensified when another young lady messaged him about certain pictures, she had sent him. On June 16th, I suffered the loss of my nephew, and the next day was my birthday, a day overshadowed by grief. Upon his return, I discovered he had accommodated another woman in a hotel.
A few weeks later, I traveled to Jamaica for my nephew’s funeral. When I returned, on July 5th, his brother informed me that he had taken another woman to the 4th of July parade. That afternoon, he received a call from my staff regarding his whereabouts needing him to come into work because he had a massage waiting for him. I got home late that evening and he claimed he was going to the gym, but while in bed, a voice urged me to check beside his bed.
A Painful Discovery
I discovered a shoebox containing a phone with nine hours of recorded content. I decided to play the recording. To my shock, he had recorded himself with another woman, the same one who had been in my office, detailing their day together. That night, he stayed out, and the next day I confronted him. A few days later I was at church when he arrived late, having dropped her off at work. I called her because I had her number from her paperwork at work. He became agitated and made threats, but I stood my ground.
A week later, he announced the decision to close our business, which we had painstakingly built over five years. His motivation was rooted in the belief that he could abscond with his newfound girlfriend and evade returning my $80,000 I put into the business.
Abandoned and Afraid
A week later, on July 17th, he evicted me from the apartment we had shared, leaving me homeless and utterly desolate. He showed no concern for my well-being. I felt broken, and on the verge of despair, and I did not know where to turn. At one point, I even feared I had breast cancer due to sores developing under my armpits. My life seemed to have crumbled entirely, and I wept relentlessly, believing that I had lost everything.
